Get out of the ordinary

It's time to order your

smart trailer and hitches for

coupé, cabrio, cdi and BRABUS

With modern computer simulations,

the hitch was designed and optimized.

1:  Transverse traverse with slim profile tube => for maintenance and service the trailer coupling does not have to be dismantled. The fixing developed by clevertrailer on the I-support ensures a perfect acceptance of the induced forces.
2:  Thread insert for towing lug or support for rear luggage rack.
3:  Prolonged original harness with heat resistant cable support sleeve.
4:  13-pin socket with micro switch for blinker control and reverse light relay mounted below the cover. No additional AFC module is used, since original electronics are being accessed. When dismantling the boarding (body panels), the cables don’t have to be separated.
5:  The fixings of the boarding have been maintained.

With modern computer simulation the trailer device has been constructed and optimized with the finite elements method.

Like this an additional weight of only 4.0 kg (8.8 lbs) is being realized due to the installation of the trailer coupling!

The opening for the socket is sealed with a rubber grommet.

The very compact ball coupling can be easily dismantled when out of use.

Crash properties with trailer coupling

The installation of a trailer coupling can influence the crash properties in the case of a rear crash.
The repair crashes (8 / 15 km / h) are only slightly influenced by the choice of a profile tube (transverse traverse) which shows deformation properties similar to those of the original crash element.
In the case of a rear collision with higher speeds (more than 15 km / h), the crash energy is reduced by means of the passenger cell and the wheels. The crash element resp. the trailer coupling can reduce this energy only partly.
